Chocolate payasam






Ingredients:

Indian Vermicelli  - 1/4 cup
Milk- 1 cup
Sugar - 2 tbsp or as per taste
Coco powder - 1 tbsp
Chocolate chips - 8-10
Cardamom power - 1/2 teaspoon
Cashew Nuts - 5-6
Raisins - 6-8
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Condensed Milk - 1 tbsp





Method:

          Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee & roast the cashews until they are light brown. Remove & keep aside.Roast raisins separately & keep aside.In the same pan, roast the vermicelli for about 1-2 minutes until they turn light brown.
  
         Bring the milk to boil & add the vermicelli & mix well.Stir frequently to avoid the vermicelli settling at the bottom or burning.As the vermicelli cooks, you'll find the milk thickening.When the consistency is thicker, add sugar,coco powder & cardamom powder and let it cook for another 2 minutes(don't let it thicken too much coz it anyways tends to thicken on cooling).

         Now add condensed milk & mix.Condensed milk helps the payasam to thicken well and also gives the sweet a great taste.Add cashews,raisins & mix well.
Serve chilled by adding chocolate chips :-),u can serve warm also.

  7. oh my god.. too good... you will not believe it, i was making a payasam a few days ago and was almost tempted to add some nutella to it.. am going to make some chocolate payasam soon

  38. Great recipe. I made chocolate payasam once using Cadbury chocolate bars and it turned pretty good.
